On 29 September, General Representative Axel Buyse participated in the conference on the implementation and strategic orientation of future EU cohesion policy instruments.
Representative Buyse - representing Belgium- confirmed in his intervention the importance of existing cohesion policy instruments such as the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund.
He also mentioned possible synergies between these existing and new instruments such as the Recovery and Resilience Facility and REACT-EU.
Finally, he stressed that these instruments should enable the regions to face different challenges. After all, Flanders not only has to cope with the COVID-19 crisis, but also with the consequences of the Brexit.
