Project: Establish a digital database and website for the Preah Vihear World Heritage Site
Beneficiary: UNESCO
Amount: 12.430 USD
Duration: 2018 – 2019
With reference to the experience and necessity for the creation of a database for the International Coordination Committee for the Safeguarding and the Development of the Archaeological Site of Angkor (ICC-Angkor), it is very important to have a similar system for the World Heritage Site of Preah Vihear. The digital database is imperative and an essential tool for the management of the site where different entities (national and international) in close cooperation with the National Authority for Preah Vihear (NAPV) are implementing projects related to archaeology, conservation, restoration and tourism in relation to the ICC. The database will assist in an easy access to on-going projects, project proposals and recommendations, as to facilitate information sharing and communication amongst the different partners, possible newcomers and new initiatives as to avoid duplication of activities and smooth interaction. In addition to the creation of the database and website, the project will provide the necessary training.
