Project: European Governmental LGBTI Focal Points Network (EFPN)
Organization: Council of Europe
Amount: 100,000 euros
Duration: 36 months
The European Governmental LGBTI Focal Points Network (EFPN) stimulates exchange at the official level on good practices regarding LGBTI policy. The network was founded informally in 2004 by the Dutch and Flemish governments and has grown strongly since then. The project aims to raise awareness of the benefits of LGBTI legislation, policies and strategies within Member States and thus bring about cultural change.
Since this year, the network's secretariat has been provided by the Council of Europe. The grant would be used for the secretariat and the activities of the network, including biennial round table discussions.
This subsidy is in line with the foreign policy that strives for better compliance with human rights worldwide and with the promotion of Flemish interests in multilateral organizations.
Taking into account the COVID-19 pandemic, the talks will take place according to the COVID guidelines of the host country, and may or may not be (partially) held virtual.
