The Council of Europe applies the highest European standards in the field of violence against women and domestic violence. The Council of Europe runs a program to support Member States, at their request, in preventing and combating violence against women. The program aims to promote ratification and implementation of the Istanbul Convention. This convention is known worldwide as the most comprehensive and progressive instrument in the field of preventing and combating gender-based violence.
The grant will fund online training materials, visibility and awareness initiatives.
This subsidy is in line with the foreign policy that strives for better compliance with human rights worldwide and with the promotion of Flemish interests in multilateral organizations.
The project takes into account any travel and meeting restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
